Kids Concert Fridays

10:30AM – 11:15AM @Market Common Clarendon
Every Friday from May to September, The Loop at Market Common Clarendon hosts a free 45 minutes children’s concert. This week, check out Pam The Kindersinger!

Jammin’ Java’s Tot Rock

10:30AM – 11:35AM @Jammin’ Java
Parents can get their caffeine fix while kids are entertained by the Jammin’ Java Tot Rock performer of the week. This week, Danny Schwartz will sing family favorites like The Bear Necessities. Make sure to grab $5 tickets online before heading to the show.

TGIF Summer Concert Series

7:00PM – 8:30PM @Wheaton Veterans Urban Park
If you can’t make either of the morning concerts, don’t worry! You can catch a free outdoor evening concert at Wheaton Veterans Urban Park. For the last event of the year, 8 OHMS Band will be playing some groovy funk and soul music, so it is the perfect excuse to get out and dance.

If you are looking for an awesome outdoor family-friendly activity, spend the day at the United States Botanical Garden! Admission is completely free and on Saturdays, they also offer free, outdoor yoga at 10:30AM!

For an easy activity that is sure to win over everyone in your family, spend one of the last weekends of summer at Six Flag America.

Kids Capoeria

11:00AM – 12:00PM @Fica DC
Let your kids try out a new activity this weekend and sign them up for a capoeira lesson at Fica DC. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that fuses dance, acrobatics, and music and this class will be a great way for them to let out some energy while getting creative!

Pickin’ on the Porch

7:00PM – 9:00PM @Agricultural History Farm Park
Spend the evening at the family-friendly Agricultural History Farm Park enjoying an evening of local acoustic, roots, and bluegrass music. In addition to listening to local artists, they will open the mic and give everyone the opportunity to pull out their own acoustic instrument and play!

Fairfax Station Railroad Museum Hands-On Day

1:00PM – 4:00PM @Fairfax Station
A few times each year, Fairfax Station will host their Hands-On day which is an event targeted at adults and children alike! There are mini-workshops on railroad modeling ran by local experts along using a variety of model trains. 

Museum Jam

3:00PM – 5:00PM @Sandy Spring Museum
Enjoy a day at the Sandy Spring Museum looking at their current “Moments In Time” art exhibit and top it off with a family-friendly concert at the museum. You are encouraged to bring your own stringed instrument but you can also just come to listen to the music!

10:00AM – 5:00PM @KID Museum
The KID Museum attempts to provide hands-on learning incorporating STEM, art, and culture with skills like creativity and critical thinking. Stop in on Sundays for workshops in the maker studios, open building time, and over a dozen other activities that change each week!
