Summer is officially coming to an end but that doesn’t mean the fun has to. We have rounded up the best things to do in Denver this holiday weekend to ensure maximum family fun!

Friday: August 30th

Denver Firefighters Museum

9:30AM – 4:30PM @Denver Firefighters Museum
The Denver Firefighters Museum aim to preserve the history of the Denver Fire Department with artifacts, documents, and photographs as well as educate the public about fire safety. It is a great way to talk to your kids about safety while having some fun!

Smoke and Mirrors

1:00PM – 7:30PM @Elitch Gardens
This is the last weekend to catch the Elitch Gardens show Smoke and Mirrors! The show is a creative mesh of magic, comedy, and mesmerizing visuals all tied together through audience participation. You can even make a whole day out of it and spend some time at Elitch Gardens!

$5 Fridays at Kirkland Museum

5:00PM – 8:00PM @Kirkland Museum
Spend the evening at Kirkland Museum enjoying the colorful paintings of the museum’s namesake artist, Vance Kirkland in 3D! When you arrive you will be given a free pair of 3D glasses and see the art come alive! For extra fun, you can get a self-guided scavenger hunt from the front desk to complete in the galleries.

Fast Cars and Freedom: Mustang Sally Showcase

9:00AM – 3:00PM @Exploration of Flight
If your kids can’t get enough airplanes and cars, then the Mustang Sally Showcase is a no brainer. With over 50 Ford Mustangs from a variety of years, an SNJ (T-6 style,) and a live DJ, it is sure to be an exciting day!

First Light Family Space

10:00AM – 5:00PM @Denver Art Museum
For a free weekend activity, head over to the Denver Art Museum to partake in their hands-on light exhibit. You will be able to trace shadows, make mirrors, play with patterns and even create your own colorful city!

Concert on the Prairie

7:00PM – 10:00PM @Barr Lake State Park
upport Colorado parks and enjoy a beautiful night of music at the Barr Lake State Park’s Concert on the Prairie. The night features the band Colorado Southern and all proceeds will go towards the Bergman Barn Restoration Project at the park!

KidzBop World Tour

4:00PM – 6:00PM @Red Rocks Amphitheatre
Red Rocks Amphitheatre is already one of the coolest venues in the world but it’s about to get a whole lot cooler with the KidzBop World Tour gracing its stage. Sing and dance along to your favorite hits with the awesome KidzBop performers!

Labor Day Weekend Fireworks

10:00PM – 10:30PM @Elitch Gardens
Nothing closes out the summer with a bang more than fireworks. Head to Elitch Gardens on Sunday night to see their magnificent, end of summer display!

A Taste of Colorado

A Taste of Colorado is the ultimate Denver festival and it is happening all weekend long. With live music, worldly cuisine, shopping, art, and of course activities and games for kids, A Tase of Colorado is a true end of summer celebration. Best of all, the whole event is free!

Framework Cycles Celebration

10:00AM – 4:00PM @Framework Cycles
Framework Cycles is having a huge, free event this Labor Day to celebrate their Grand Opening! They will have test bike rides, bike maintenance workshops, a children’s bike obstacle course, kids biking classes, bike swag, prizes, and free food and drinks!
