Your Weekend Roundup: August 23 – 25, 2019
As you look towards making some weekend plans, we are here to help you out. You can head over to the Dallas Zoo to see 24 larger than life dinosaurs, catch Space Jam on the big screen in Klyde Warren Park, join a kickball tournament and so much more!
Friday: August 23rd
9:00AM – 5:00PM @Dallas Zoo
Through September 2nd, ZooNorth will be transformed into a prehistoric jungle with over 24 larger-than-life dinosaurs ranging from the terrifying T. rex to the feathered Citipati! Besides checking out the dinos, kids can play with robotic dinosaurs, hunt for fossils, watch a “Train a Dino” show, try to jump as high as a dinosaur and much more!
9:00AM – 5:00PM @George W. Bush Presidential Center
If your family is fascinated by history and government, head over to the George W. Bush Presidential Center to experience a special exhibit, which explores presidential retreats. The exhibits will reveal how past U.S. presidents have used Camp David in Frederick County, MD, Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, TX, LBJ Ranch in Stonewall, TX, and Walker’s Point in Kennebunkport, ME for work, rejuvenation, and rest.
11:00AM – 4:30PM @Candytopia
Candytopia will be your kid’s favorite museum from the moment they walk in. The special exhibit included 14 rooms carefully crafted with candy. While there you can be showered in confetti by candy-coated unicorn pigs, swim in a pool of 300,000 marshmallows, and indulge in 9 candy samples!
Saturday: August 24th
10:00AM – 9:00PM @NorthPark Shopping Center
If your kids are obsessed with cars, head over to NorthPark Shopping Center and check out the over 40 top-of-the-line vehicles on display. With Audi, Bentley, BMW, Cadillac, Genesis, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus, McLaren, MINI, Rolls Royce, and Tesla all represented, you could spend hours perusing them. There will also be a mini Bentley, Maserati, and McLaren for young kids to play with!
12:30PM – 2:00PM @Pencil on Paper Gallery
This class walks kids through a series of yoga poses and meditation practices and then afterward allow them to harness the focus from the class to express themselves through art. This class is meant to promote inner calm and focus but most importantly is meant to be fun!
8:30PM – 10:30PM @Klyde Warren Park
All summer long Klyde Warren Park has been setting up a large screen and screening family-friendly movies. This Saturday you can catch share a 90s favorite with your kids and enjoy Space Jam!
9:00AM – 2:00PM @Moore Park
Head over to Moore Park for a day of free fun! Not only are there free kickball games for kids, teens, and adults, there will also be free In-N-Out from 12:00PM to 1:00PM, bounce houses, corn hole, ring toss, bowling, arts and crafts, and live music! Make sure to RSVP online if you want to play in a kickball game!
Sunday: August 25th
10:30AM – 9:00PM @Six Flags Arlington
For an easy activity that is sure to win over everyone in your family, spend one of the last weekends of summer at Six Flag Over Texas.
1:30PM – 4:00PM @AT&T Performing Arts Center Winspear Opera House

Join Project Unity and the Dallas Mavericks in their 5th annual Together We Ball event! The event is an attempt to foster unity between the community and law enforcement with a culminating event of a Pastors vs Police basketball game. The event also has balloon artists, face painting, a 3-point shootout, free-throw contests and other family friendly activities.
