Friday: August 30th

Taste of Polonia

5:00PM – 10:30PM @Copernicus Center
All weekend long the country’s largest Polish festival is taking the streets of Chicago. The festival has over 30 bands performing, a variety of inflatables, a climbing wall, face painting, clowns, Disney characters, cooking classes, carnival rides, games and of course, Polish favorites like pierogis, sausages and potato pancakes.

The Great American Lobster Fest

12:00PM – 10:00PM @Navy Pier
Lobster Fest is an event filled with live music, family-friendly games, arts, and crafts, and of course, lots and lots of lobster! Head down to Navy Pier and get your fill of lobster tails and lobster rolls flown in fresh from the East Coast!

Naperville Last Fling

4:45PM – 10:00PM @Naperville Central High School
The town of Naperville is hosting their “Last Fling” this weekend! The event is a music festival filled with family-friendly entertainment like pony rides, a petting zoo, a bounce town, crafts, and of course food. Best of all, proceeds are given to nonprofit organizations throughout DuPage County.

Navy Pier Fireworks

10:15PM – 10:45PM @Navy Pier
Catch the last night of the 2019 Navy Pier Fireworks! The show is perfectly synchronized with music and is complemented by the view of Lake Michigan.

Chicago Jazz Festival

10:15PM – 10:45PM @Millennium Park, Cloud Gate
All weekend long, some of the biggest names in jazz will be gracing Chicago with a series of shows in Millennium Park! This year you can catch the Art Ensemble of Chicago, jazz vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant, legendary pianist Eddie Palmieri and a tribute to Nat King Cole (led by his brother, Freddy Cole).

Live on the Lake

2:00PM – 11:30PM @Navy Pier
All summer long Miller Lite Beer Garden has been hosting free live concerts on Saturdays. This weekend is your last chance to grab a 2019 summer show! Head down to Navy Pier to see Local Motive, NuBlu Band, and Mike & Joe!

30th Annual African Festival of the Arts

10:00AM – 10:00PM @Washington Park
The African Festival of the Arts aims to simulate an African village. Your family will be transported with interactive demonstrations, drumming, collectible artifacts, handmade fabrics/textiles and interactive spaces including some, especially for kids!

Fox Valley Folk Festival

11:00AM – 6:00PM @Island Park
Fox Valley Folk Festival is a music festival with a twist! In addition to live folk music, they also have a series of storytellers there to captivate audiences with their tales as well as special workshops to get audiences involved!

WOOGMS Labor Day Parade

11:00AM – 12:00PM @Woogms
What better way to spend your Labor Day than in a parade? Join WOOGMS (Wellington Oakdale Old Glory Marching Society) for a fun, free, family-oriented celebration that everyone gets to be involved in. Bring your walking shoes and march from Wellington & Pine Grove to the Lakefront alongside the band.

Shake Shack Day

9:30AM – 3:30PM @FUNDAY
FUNDAY is a drop-off play space and activity center for kids ages 3-12 years old. This Memorial Day, they are offering a special day in partner witih Shake Shack! The day will include custard making, imaginative play, arts and crafts, ball games, a dance competition, slime, and Shake Shack for lunch!
