Water World

August marks the last month of summer so grab your kids and get out to the pools before everyone is back in school. Water World is one of America’s largest family water parks and is just 15 minutes north of downtown Denver. The park has over 46 adventures so everyone in your family will be able to find something to do.

Elitch Gardens Water Park — Dive-In Movie Night, The Incredibles

Time: 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 2

You have one last chance to catch an Elitch Gardens movie night this summer and it’s a great one — The Incredibles! On Friday nights, Elitch Gardens streams a different family-friendly movie that can be viewed from the water of their wave pool or from a lawn chair on their grounds. Needless to say, it’s a blast for the whole family.

Green Valley Ranch Concert Series

Time: 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7 and Wednesday, August 24

If you haven’t enjoyed live music with the backdrop of a Colorado sunset yet this summer, you have two more chances this August. Pack up those lawn chairs, some snacks, and the kids and head over to Green Valley Ranch. On August 7 you can catch the Sontres and on August 24, you can sing along with STB, a McCartney tribute band.

Denver Tour Club

The Denver Tour Club provides riveting one-day field trips for kids all summer long. This August, your kids could take a trip to Boondocks for bowling, laser tag, and arcade games, or head out to the CU Boulder campus to hike at Chautauqua, or even spend a day at Del Mar Water Park and Growhaus Indoor Farm. Be sure to check out all of the options and pick the right experience for your children.

Horseback Riding

Give your kids the thrill of the summer and sign them up for a horseback riding lesson. Not only will they be able to ride, but they will also walk through the basics on how to groom and saddle the horse. Best of all, no experience is necessary.

Warrior Challenge Arena

Let your family embrace their inner ninjas at the Warrior Challenge Arena Family Drop-In. The Warrior Challenge Arena helps kids and parents alike combine intelligence, education, teamwork, and athletics while tackling a variety of obstacles.

Bike Camp: Level 1-3

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. August 5 – August 9

Help your child transform into a speed racer and sign them up for a week-long biking camping. The camp will focus on pedaling, stopping, steering, and of course, bike safety. If they become good enough, the camp will even help them try biking without their training wheels.

SeaQuest

With approximately 1,200 animals of 300 different species, SeaQuest is no ordinary aquarium. In addition to learning about and looking at animals, SeaQuest offers a variety of interactive experiences that include holding and feeding some of the animals.

Gymboree Family Art

Make some colorful memories you can take home with you in the Gymboree Art Studio. Whether sculpting with a giant block of clay, designing a family tree or painting a mural, there is no shortage of fun and creativity at a Gymboree art class.

Adventure Golf and Raceway

Spend the day in the fast lane at Denver’s Adventure Golf and Raceway. You can take on all three of the 18-hole mini-golf course or seek more of a thrill and try out the go-karts, bumper cars, and ropes course. Or if you want, you can do some of everything!

Mile High Flea Market — Free Ride Days

Mile High Flea Market has taken on the task of making shopping with the family a whole lot more fun and that is why they have an amusement park within their market grounds. Usually, you have to pay a fee to join the fun but on August 16 they will be allowing the community to ride for free!
